From Ironbridge to the Manifold
The CTC Birthday rides attract up to 500 cyclists, all with the determination to make the most of the week, cycle the miles and visit the sites of interest.
My rides to date have taken me past the cottage of the angling guru Isaak Walton
to Ironbridge and the epicentre of the industrial revolution
then to the heady heights of the Peak District and the quiet tranquility of the Manifold Valley
whose old railway track now serves as a cycle track, but you still have to negotiate its (now lit) 200 metre tunnel
…..but then I was sadly “ambushed” by the need to test ride a couple of titanium bikes
…. bad mistake….because I now want one……..or is that really a ‘need’?
Mmnn……let’s deal with the Dave Yates frame first.
